Our Services

Results-Oriented Therapy for Personal Growth

At Kemp Individual & Family Therapy, Inc, our counseling for mental, couples, and family issues is designed to first uncover the root of the problem and to then find a road to recovery. Incorporating cognitive restructuring as well as behavioral changes, we've helped many in the High Desert area with their therapy needs.

A process through which the client works one-on-one with one of our trained and licensed therapists in a safe, caring and confidential environment. This service allows the client to explore their feelings, beliefs or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories or events, identify areas of their lives they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals and work toward desired change.

Couples counseling is a type of psychotherapy. This service helps partners and spouses of all types recognize and resolve conflicts and improve their relationships. At Kemp Individual & Family Counseling, Inc, you and your spouse or partner will work with one of our trained and licensed therapists to strengthen and build your relationship and gain a better understanding of each other.

As a couple and together with your therapist, you will learn and develop tools to work through tough issues such as: communication problems, sexual difficulties, conflicts around parenting or blended families, substance abuse, anger, and infidelity. We are able to accommodate working couples who may need appointments after work. We are open evenings and Saturdays, call our office at 760-810-0000 to make an appointment.

Family Counseling is a type of psychological service that can help family members improve communication and resolve conflicts. Here at Kemp Individual & Family Therapy, Inc. you will work with trained and licensed therapists and may address specific issues such as marital or financial problems, conflict between parents and children, or the impact of substance abuse or a mental illness on the entire family.

Family Counseling is often short term and it may include all family members or just those able or willing to participate. Your specific treatment plan will depend on your family's situation. Family therapy sessions can teach you skills to deepen family connections and get through stressful times, even after you're done going to therapy sessions.

Family Counseling can be useful in any family situation that causes stress, grief, anger or conflict. It can help you and your family members understand one another better and learn coping skills to bring you closer together.

Child Counseling is a type of therapy that focuses on young children, teens, and adolescents with one or more mental illness. It also provides aid to youths, who have experienced trauma, and/or who are experiencing a dysfunctional or stressful home environment. Many of the issues these children face mimicking the issues adults face in their day-to-day lives. Some of these common issues include anxiety, depression, and grief. The goal of child counseling, however, is to break down problems into manageable parts, so children can better understand and cope with them.

At Kemp Individual & Family Therapy, Inc. we have trained and licensed professionals who will offer invaluable insight into your child’s social and emotional development and mental health. These individuals have the knowledge and expertise to recognize, identify, pinpoint, assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of mental health conditions, adjustment issues (divorce, new school, bullying, grief, etc.), and psychological distress. More specifically, our child counselors have been trained to “get into the minds of children,” so they can help them make sense of what is going on in their minds, bodies, and lives

Hello, my name is Stan. I understand that life isn't always easy. Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that are difficult to manage. Asking for help isn't easy, so I applaud you for taking the first step and seeking a therapist.

As a Marriage & Family Therapist I have worked extensively with individuals, couples and families of all ages, and different cultures. I know that relationships can be challenging when problems arise but very rewarding when things are going well. Let me help you make the relationships in your life acceptable to you.

I am a kind, sympathetic, and caring individual. I look at others through a lens of compassion and understanding. You will find no judgement here or condemnation. I am solely here to help you achieve happiness in your life.

Thank you for taking a moment to look at my profile. Whether you are looking for yourself or someone you love, seeking help is the first step. I sincerely wish you the very best on this journey toward mental health. I believe in the human spirit and in the potential of individuals to achieve emotional and spiritual happiness. I believe that families are the foundation of our society and that these relationships must be nurtured and supported.

I have a Master's of science degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University and a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Psychology from California State University San Bernardino. Navigating life’s transitions can feel exhausting at times, and it can feel like our regular methods of coping aren’t helping as much, or we are worried about judgment when reaching out to others. My belief is that therapy is that it is not a one-size fits all approach and sometimes it can be a process to find the right fit to feel understood. I have completed basic training for EMDR, a trauma processing therapy. I earned my B.A. in Psychology in 1998 from Cal State San Bernardino and my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University in 2009. I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2019. Prior to being licensed, I provided therapy under supervision as an associate Marriage and Family Therapist for four years in a recovery setting with adults. Prior to my career transition into therapy, I worked in Public Health and have had the privilege to work with people from varied backgrounds and life situations. Life was once described to me as a dark room full of furniture, walking through it while occasionally stumbling upon various pieces that you were unaware were there. Sometimes, while walking with purpose towards your destination, you’ll unexpectedly hit your pinky toe on a sharp corner of a table and experience excruciating pain. Psychotherapy was then described to me as walking through that dark room with a candle light, slowly finding out what pieces of furniture are placed in your path and how to walk around them, while slowly placing candles along your way. I am optimistically hopeful that venturing together on this journey of self-discovery, you’ll find the experience of lighting candles along your way to be a fulfilling one that provides you with meaning and purpose.

I work with all ages and have extensive experience working with adolescents and their families in the juvenile justice system. I have also worked with individuals of all walks of life. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from California State University. I am currently licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Health LMFT119783. I accept IEHP and Self-Pay.

I strongly believe we are all born with purpose and passion for our life. One of mind, is the deep passion I hold to help people who are having challenges live a healthier, happier and meaningful life. I’m a very compassionate therapist offering a safe, open, honest, trusting and non-judgmental environment. I make it my goal to collaborate with my clients to help them realize the goals they have set for themselves.

I earned my Bachelor Degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from Chapman University in 2011 and a Master Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California Baptist University in 2015. I’ve been a practicing therapist since 2009. I worked with adult clients in inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation centers with substance use/abuse disorders, and have held groups for men and women dealing with trauma and have also led a spirituality group session. I’ve had extensive experience working within the community-based health services serving at risk and foster youth. I work with adolescents, children, individuals, couples and families.

I’ve been privileged to help many people on their journey to a better place. You’ve gained the courage! I hope to meet you and help you towards your healing; MIND. BODY. SOUL. Let the healing begin!

I currently accept IEHP insurance.
